With the imminent global release of the new Windows 7® operating system from Microsoft®, David Manns, head of Pulsonix development for Westdev Ltd comments on Windows 7 and support for Pulsonix.

“Windows 7 is the latest incarnation of Windows from Microsoft and is currently at Beta-release level with the first release candidate being recently announced. We have been asked about our support for this operating system and are pleased to announce the following statement:”

“Our initial tests of Pulsonix under a beta version of Windows 7 at our development centre here in the UK show that there are no major visible problems. As an official Microsoft Development Partner, we are privileged to be constantly provided with the latest operating systems under the MDP scheme. This is a continual scheme with regular updates, including that of the latest ‘cut’ of Windows 7”.

“As with all new operating systems, we only officially provide support of Pulsonix once the O/S have been officially released by Microsoft. For Windows 7, this is scheduled for October 2009. We will continue our development testing of Pulsonix on this platform and will maintain a log of any found problems which will then be fixed and provided as a service patch. We are unable to provide immediate critical fixes for any Windows 7 specific problems until it is officially released. We will only be able to support Pulsonix version 6.0 and later under this operating system; no earlier versions will be supported”.

“However, the good news is that Windows 7 will be officially supported for Pulsonix 6.0 with the minimum of effort”.
