ASCII versus Binary

In general, Pulsonix can only import files from other systems that are in 'ascii' format. Most CAD vendors store their files in proprietary binary formats, but also provide options to allow them to be 'exported' to 'ascii'.

Where to find detailed information

You will find detailed information about each of the formats we support in the online Help file for Pulsonix. If you open the online Help, then find Importing in the Index, you will see each of the various vendors or products listed. Just select the one you are interested in, to view the best information we have been able to put together covering export of data from that system.

Each of these Help sections also list the specific formats or versions known to be supported by Pulsonix. If you are migrating data from another system, it is worth checking this list to see what versions are supported.
