Pulsonix officially supports Windows 8 with the release of 7.6

Tewkesbury, UK. (Oct 20, 2012) – Westdev Ltd. – the PCB EDA company delivering technology-leading PCB design solutions today announced the release of its latest Pulsonix, version 7.6. With the second interim release in the same year, Pulsonix V7.6 releases yet more significant functionality for its user base.

“With the release of Microsoft Windows 8, the Pulsonix development team, with their Microsoft Development Partner status, have tested the new operating system on various platforms and are pleased to be able to officially certify its use with Pulsonix 7.6”, says Bob Williams, Marketing Director for Pulsonix. Major New Features Overview

Along with Windows 8 support, Pulsonix 7.6 introduces the Scaling of Symbols in designs and the library.

For users who require Pulsonix to be checking and validating data as it is added to the design, Attribute Validation has been added. This enables a validation string to be defined. When used, the attribute value will be checked and validated against this string. If no match is found, an error message is produced.

Tolerances in Dimensions have been added to enable users to produce accurate documentation. These are available in various industry formats to allow for the world-wide variety of standards.

The Measure tool has been added to the Schematics design editor to allow accurate measuring of design and library objects.

Within the 3D Viewer, users can now specify whether a resistor band, based on its value, is drawn using 3 stripes plus the tolerance band or 4 plus 1.

Many user-requested features have been added to aid productivity, such as Grid ‘crosses’ (in addition to lines and ‘dot’s), an additional cursor type of 45 degree-crosshair, the ability to move (on a single command) 10 cursor steps. The ability to calibrate the screen to view a design as Actual Size has been added.

As part of the on-going support of import filters, the industry’s largest collection of free import filters added a new one to the Pulsonix range for Allegro PCB Designs. The import support for Eagle V6.3 has also been added.

For the Interactive High Speed option, shape formatting for Serpentine Routing has been added. This enables different shape styles and patterns to be produced where track lengthening is required.
